Through this cooperation JOWA is proud to present our latest chemistry products that can comply with the highest environmental standards such as HOCNF registrations for offshore use.
Removing dirt and other soils in the engine room is a serious challenge. Traditionally, ‘heavy’ chemistry has been used to solve the problems, such as solvents, heavy duty surfactants and acids, but we are now starting to understand that such materials can have a negative effect on the overall compliance of the ship. For example engine room cleaners that cause emulsion of bilge water and oily waste can increase the amount of oily waste retained on board, or excessive use of acids for black water descaling can have a negative effect on the operation of the sewage treatment plant. Biotal Marine products all offer a demonstrative performance, safety or environmental benefit and in many cases, an overall cost saving for the user.
Biotal Ecoclean 3000 is an aqueous, water dilutable, non-solvent formula which is highly effective against a wide range of hydrocarbon soils but also quick-breaking in the bilge or oily waste tank.
All components of Biotal Ecoclean 3000 are highly bio-degradable and the product does not contain VOCs, solvents or phosphates.
Biotal Ecoclean 3000 contains bacterial strains which have been specifically selected for their ability to biodegrade the surfactants that stabilise oil in water emulsions, and also hydrocarbons.
Biotal DC 3000 is custom-designed for cleaning-in-place (CIP) of marine separators and is not acidic so will not etch or damage high precision centrifuge parts; it contains no solvents or VOCs.
The product is non-foaming, low odour and demonstrates high cleaning-efficiency at all temperatures. It has also been extensively tested to verify minimum possible corrosion on aluminium, brass, etc.
Biotal DC 3000 is highly concentrated with 1:20 dilution as standard compared to 1:5 for most competitor products and the bilge friendly formulation means CIP liquor will not have a negative effect on the oily water separator (OWS)
The highly biodegradable formula is endorsed by a major marine separator manufacturer.
Biotal DC 3000 is not classified as hazardous for transport.
Advanced acid replacement technology for manual and cleaning in place (CIP) descaling of a variety of on-board equipment such as plate heat exchangers, evaporators, etc.
The product incorporates degreasing surfactants to improve scale removal and means there is no need for a separate degreaser treatment if oils and grease are present.
The product is not corrosive to skin, unlike hydrochloric acid based descalants and is not harmful to the environment, unlike sulphamic acid.
The product is more effective than organic acids (citric, malic) and many mineral acids such as phosphoric acid and it contains a useful colour indicator so the operator knows when the descaling activity is optimal.
Advanced acid replacement technology for treatment of black water collection systems, either in a periodic descaling program; or for regular dosing to prevent scale build up as an alternative to sulphamic acid sachets.
Results for periodic de-scaling have been equivalent to those achieved in dry dock, but as the product is not corrosive to skin, the treatment can be carried out whilst the ship is operational.
The product has been proven to be more is more effective than organic acids (citric, malic, etc) as well as mineral acids such as phosphoric and is not harmful to the environment, unlike sulphamic acid.
The formula contains a powerful degreasing agent to improve scale removal where grease and oils are present.

On vacuum systems with a history of severe scale build up Biotal MDS 3000 can be used between descaling operations with Biotal Acid Replacement.
Biotal MDS-PAK 3000 is designed for use in black and grey water systems, sewage holding tanks and marine sanitation devices; it is suitable for use in waste transfer stations and on-shore water treatments.
Biotal MDS-PAK 3000 contains proprietary, application-specific bacterial strains chosen specifically for optimum efficiency in the marine sanitation device application.
These strains have been scientifically verified and validated as being capable of degradation of all wastes commonly found in shipboard sewage plants (faeces, urine and paper). The bacteria have also been proven to be effective at degradation of a broad range of other organic wastes such as fats, oil and grease.
Biotal MDS-PAK 3000 is effective over a wide range of pH and temperature environments and is also effective in low oxygen situations such as sewage holding tanks.
A liquid treatment containing application-specific biological cultures capable of degrading a wide range of organic waste, combined with natural sulphide control to help prevent malodours and corrosion of storage tanks, tank linings, pipe-work and other metal surfaces.
Biotal GW 3000 is custom designed to prevent odours and build-up of solids in grey water storage systems.
Biotal GW 3000 contains proprietary, application-specific bacterial strains chosen specifically for their ability to degrade fats, oil and grease and other organic waste.
These particular strains have been selected to work at the low temperatures that may be found in double-bottom storage tanks and they can utilise the natural oxygen donor within the product to rapidly degrade grease and other solids.
The natural oxygen donor also inhibits sulphate-reducing bacteria for active control of hydrogen sulphide.
The removal of fatty deposits and solids prevents formation of low pH regions due to the action of anaerobic bacteria.
Biotal GW 3000 is suitable for manual or automated dosing.
Biotal GT 3000 is custom-designed for use in galley sinks, scuppers and associated pipework.
Biotal GT 3000 contains specially selected bacterial cultures with high enzyme production for rapid breakdown of food wastes. These particular strains are proven to degrade a wide range of fats and greases completely down to carbon dioxide and water.
The eco-benign® chemistry present in Biotal GT 3000 enhances the action of the bacteria and the very high bacteria specification provides maximum effectiveness in this tough environment.
The bacteria present in the product will form a bio-film on the inside of the pipes which provides protection against extremes of temperature and pH, the system is therefore operating constantly in a wide range of pH and temperature environments.
Biotal GT 3000 has a long product shelf-life and is designed for automatic dosing so results are achieved with minimum engineer input.
